The gardens at the local park always seem to be in between phases. It's winter now and everything is fallow, except that some things are still growing. Someone pulled up a carrot the other day. Someone has a little plastic hothouse going for the winter. But in other plots the ground is mud and the gates are falling off. The engineers seem to keep their wooden walkways in shape, but there never seems to be much of a harvest by the walkways. If we had to depend on this place for food we'd all be eating grass.
